David Letterman used to say that one of the best things about having his own television show was that, every year, he got to introduce Darlene Love for an annual appearance to perform “Christmas (Please Come Home).”
This is perhaps my favorite Christmas song. It was released as a single in 1963 and appeared on A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records
